Sustainability
Making BESS ownership an option for everyone.
Making BESS ownership an option for everyone.
Delivering renewable energy in a sustainable and efficient way. Every decision - from sourcing to waste management, is driven by our commitment to lasting environment, social and economic responsibility.
Environment - We contribute to the fight against climate change by investing into key technologies at the center of the energy transition.
Social – We take various measures to foster our employees’ talent and to have a positive impact on the communities we operate in.
Governance - We make continuous efforts to ensure we follow best practice governance approaches.
To further increase our positive impact, we have identified three key areas with significant impact potential: environment, people, and partners. In order to address these, we have introduced our Sustainability Framework, composed of three pillars serving as the foundation for the Group’s sustainability strategy.
To maximize our positive impact and consistently deliver excellence, we embrace six core services as our foundation.
BESS stores excess energy during peak generation and releases it when needed, enhancing renewable grid integration, reducing fossil fuel use, and cutting carbon emissions.
BESS can serve as a cleaner alternative to traditional diesel generators for backup power during outages. This significantly reduces greenhouse gas emissions and air pollution associated with burning fossil fuels.
BESS can provide rapid response for frequency regulation and voltage support, contributing to a more stable and efficient electricity grid. This reduces energy waste and the need for inefficient peaking power plants.
BESS enables load shifting, storing electricity during off-peak hours (cheaper and cleaner) and using it during peak demand, reducing energy costs and grid strain.
Designing longer-lasting batteries, enabling reuse in secondary applications after grid storage, and implementing effective recycling processes reduce waste and the environmental impact of raw material extraction.
Sustainable sourcing, minimizing energy and water use in manufacturing, reducing transportation emissions, and ensuring responsible disposal or recycling of battery components.
